Anthony Godfrey meets Ronald Reagan
Anthony was a Russian translator for the Navy. His last gig with them
( after translating for all of the Russian missle site inspections
under the START treaty ) was to translate for Ronald Reagan at the
dedication of the Reagan library. After the ceremony, he asked Ron
to sign a baseball for him. Reagan did so, then launched into a long
story about his "career in the majors". Needless to say, the various
JCS members gathered around him were mildly disturbed to see their
hero so out of touch. Always the diplomat, Antony managed
not to laugh.
